about us

Nothing is more important than family and this is our area of expertise. The breakdown of a marriage or partnership is one of the most difficult events anyone will face in a lifetime. It demands specialist advice from people you can trust.

At Peters May we take a different approach to traditional law firms. Both partners work closely together as a team providing clients with a seamless service. We work in partnership with you, keeping our joint strategy front of mind and drawing on the expertise of the finest specialist family law barristers and experts to achieve the best results.

Jessica and Juliette met whilst working at City law firm Howard Kennedy. Although both had their own family law clients, it was clear that they worked very effectively as a team, providing an even greater level of client service, expertise and responsiveness. A shared commitment to the highest level of client care through a bespoke and personal approach inspired them to set up Peters May.
Jessica served as lead Solicitor in my divorce; my highly contested financial court application and my children court proceedings. She was highly personable and understanding of my situation. I am forever grateful for her counsel. As a satisfied former client, I highly endorse Jessica for her counsel in matters of family law.
Juliette acted for me in a particularly difficult, acrimonious divorce from a husband qualified in the legal profession. She has a razor sharp attention to detail, very tenacious and extremely knowledgeable. I have recommended a number of friends to her, including high net worth individuals who have all been delighted with the outcome of their particular matters. Juliette has to be one of the very best in her field.
Juliette Peters (Mace)
Partner
A specialist in divorce and private children law, Juliette worked for many years as assistant to legendary Mayfair divorce lawyer, Raymond Tooth, on large complex divorce cases often with high profile clients.

She has extensive experience of handling high value financial claims and cases with international multi-jurisdictional issues and company structures. A Guernsey Advocate*, she is often asked to advise on cases with an offshore element or involving trusts. Juliette regularly handles difficult and complicated divorce cases and same sex dissolutions, successfully representing both husbands and wives from diverse backgrounds.

She is also dedicated to private children issues such as where children will live, relocation, child contact and financial claims on behalf of children.

Juliette achieved an excellent settlement for me. She ensured my ex-husband adhered to the terms of my spousal maintenance court order despite him attempting to defy it twice in the first year - most recently asserting Covid-19 reasons. On both occasions, Juliette acted swiftly to protect my finances and the privacy of my new location which was not disclosed. This was an anxious time for me. Juliette’s brilliant enforcement application and statement in support remain with the court. Juliette is worth her weight in gold.
Juliette’s friendship, integrity and attention to detail tempered the trauma of the process, its preparation and prosecution. She was always available for us. I know she will be there in the aftermath, seeing it through to the end.

Jessica May
PARTNER
A specialist in family law, Jessica worked in the family law departments of two London law firms before co-founding Peters May. Her expertise includes divorce, court applications for financial orders, the negotiation of complex financial settlements, cohabitee disputes and applications relating to children including those involving relocation out of the jurisdiction.

Jessica has been instructed to advise on prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and has represented a variety of clients from London and elsewhere in the UK. Her clients have included high net worth individuals, business owners, academics, accountants and entrepreneurs.
Jessica was wonderful working on my behalf in a very difficult case. I recommend her wholeheartedly. Her skills, careful attention to detail and devoted work were essential to the success of my application to relocate my children with me to the U.S. during the divorce with my partner. Her wise advice to include the children’s university fees in the financial application saved me and my children from years of emotional and financial stress.
As a satisfied former client, I highly endorse Jessica for her counsel in matters of family law. She served as my lead Solicitor in my divorce; my highly contested financial court application and my children court proceedings. She was highly personable and understanding of my situation. I am forever grateful for her counsel.
I would like to thank Jessica for all of her advice, support and empathy during what was possibly the most challenging period of my life to date.
